As far as I can remember I have always had a fascination for writing and communication. After graduating from college I immediately became involved in different aspects of media (radio, television, web, newsletters, newspapers, mobile technologies), both in France and Belgium. Media is a key part of both my academic and personal life. In 2007, after working twelve years in the media world, I started my own business, Cedric.FM, in Belgium. I see translation work as not just a mechanical, literal, word for word substitution, but rather as a linguistic and cultural adaptation of ideas. It is, of course, a strict discipline, but in the foremost, creative.

Originally from the Liège region of Belgium, I have been living in Brussels since 1994. My other interests include reading, creative writing, photography and regular sports workouts. You can find me on Twitter, LinkedIn, BeMobile (since 2005) and TooLinux.com (since 2000). I was the author of a blog since August 2004. A new one debuted on November 9th 2009 at cedric.fm. In 2005 I published a novel entitled “Les pluies ne durent jamais en Ecosse,” (It Never Rains Long in Scotland) which can be downloaded free of charge under Creative Commons.

A graduate of the Institut Libre Marie-Haps (Brussels) in Translation (English and German), currently I am on-air talent/producer on Pure-FM Radio (Brussels) and a freelance reporter. I am self-employed and my company (Cedric.FM) is involved in consulting, translation, reporting and radio production.

My highest profile professional activity is the program “On n’ est pas des anges” (We’re not Angels), of which I have been the on-air talent and producer for Pure FM Radio (RTBF) since 2005. Originaire d’un petit village situé près de Visé (région de Liège, Belgique), je vis à Bruxelles depuis 1994, où je me partage entre plusieurs activités allant du journalisme spécialisé (IT, médias, systèmes d’exploitation, technologies mobiles, économie) à la radio en passant par la traduction. En 2005, j’ai eu la chance de publier un roman intitulé “Les pluies ne durent jamais en Ecosse”, que vous pouvez télécharger gratuitement sous licence Creative Commons.

Formé à la traduction (anglais/allemand) à l’Institut Libre Marie-Haps (Bruxelles), je suis actuellement animateur/producteur radio sur Pure FM (“On n’est pas des anges”, du lundi au vendredi de 16 à 19 heures) et journaliste free-lance. Je suis indépendant et ma société a pour nom Cedric.FM. La société - commandite simple de droit belge / BE 0895.690.377 - est active dans plusieurs domaines : consultance, conseil, traduction, journalisme et production radio.

Mon activité la plus “visible” est l’émission “On n’est pas des anges”, dont je suis l’animateur/producteur sur Pure FM (RTBF) depuis 2008.
